It’s a scary thought when you think what could happen if your vehicle is unregistered. Making sure cars are roadworthy is a big part of the registration system. It’s also about protecting people – every vehicle must be registered to be covered by compulsory third party insurance. This insurance makes sure that everyone is covered for personal injury if someone is hurt in a crash.
Driving an unregistered vehicle is a serious offence that can have far-reaching and catastrophic consequences; it also attracts on-the-spot fines and four demerit points.
We are your Authorised Registration Inspection Station – This is a safety inspection report that proves your car is roadworthy. In years gone by these inspection reports were handwritten on pink forms and were commonly called ‘pink slips’. We currently perform E-Safety Checks which is a pink slip that has been sent electronically to the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) – formally the RTA. This allows you to renew your rego online or by phone.
All vehicles over five years old require a safety inspection as a condition of registration renewal. Your registration renewal notice will advise you if your vehicle needs an inspection.
We can also provide inspection reports for LPG vehicles.
To get an inspection report or pink slip, you need to bring your vehicle to our workshop which is an Authorised Inspection Station (AIS) with your registration papers.
Bookings for inspection reports are essential, and can be made by phoning 49540744.
